The manner of death was officially classified as accidental following the conclusion of local autopsies and toxicological analyses.

Greenville Medical Examiner Autopsy and Toxicology Findings

According to the Greenville County Medical Examiner’s Office, emergency responders were called to a Greenville residence where Panettiere was temporarily staying after she was found unconscious and suffering from cardiac arrest. Responders attempted resuscitation without success, and she was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m. Toxicology analyses detected fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine. The autopsy report confirmed no evidence of trauma contributing to the death.
