Hermès and Apple Expand Luxury Tech Collaboration with New Charging Accessories
Over a decade after their initial partnership focused on the Apple Watch, Apple and Hermès have unveiled a new collection of high-end charging accessories for Apple devices. The collection features leather-wrapped wireless chargers, with prices reaching up to $5,150, demonstrating a continued commitment to blending luxury craftsmanship with technology.
Luxury Charging Options
The most extravagant offering is the multi-device wireless charger encased in Hermès’ signature gold-colored calfskin leather, priced at $5,150. For context, a 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,699. At the more accessible end of the spectrum, though still a significant investment, is the Paddock Solo charger, retailing for $1,250. This charger features a wireless charging puck wrapped in calfskin leather and adorned with saddle stitching. Hermès specifies that a minimum 20W power supply is required for optimal performance, though the charger itself does not include a power adapter.
Expanding the Collection
The collection also includes the Paddock Yoyo, a double-sided wireless charger priced at $1,750, capable of charging an Apple Watch or any Qi-compatible device when inverted. The Paddock Duo, a side-by-side wireless charger, offers simultaneous charging for two devices at the same $1,750 price point. These chargers are also available bundled with leather cases, such as the Grand Paddock, which provides additional space for cables and, crucially, the separately purchased power adapter.
Additional Accessories
Beyond wireless chargers, Hermès offers a range of other tech accessories, including MagSafe card holders like the “Jockey,” “Cowboy,” and “Jean patch,” priced between $510 and $1,025. AirPods Pro 2 cases are available in various colors, ranging from $1,125 to $1,625. A connected speaker is also part of the collection, priced at $36,800. Lanyards are available for $405.
Power Adapter Not Included
A consistent feature across the new Hermès charging accessories is the exclusion of a power adapter. Customers will require to provide their own USB-C power adapter capable of delivering at least 20W of power to utilize the chargers effectively. The Verge highlights this omission, noting the cost of the charging case could cover the price of three MacBook Pros.
Where to Purchase
The Hermès and Apple collaboration accessories are available for purchase on the official Hermès online store and through Apple’s retail channels. Apple also showcases new arrivals of accessories.
