Hilton to Expand Irish Footprint with New Tapestry Collection Hotel in Cork City Centre

Hilton has announced plans to open a new boutique hotel in Cork City Centre, operating under its Tapestry Collection brand. The hotel, located on South Terrace, is expected to open in autumn 2027 and will add 103 guestrooms to the city’s hospitality landscape.

Project Details and Location

The Cork City Centre, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, will be created through the conversion of three late-Georgian buildings – Nos 31, 32, and 33 South Terrace . The project includes permission for a five-floor annex and an external landscaped courtyard. Originally purchased around a decade ago for approximately €1 million, the buildings were previously slated to operate under the Adagio brand .

Hotel Amenities and Accommodation

The hotel will feature a mix of standard rooms and extended-stay accommodation with kitchenettes. Guests can similarly expect a restaurant and breakfast area, a bar, and a fitness space . The Tapestry Collection is designed to appeal to both leisure and business travelers.

Partnership and Job Creation

The development is a partnership between Hilton and the JMK Group. Sonia Kajani, director of JMK Group, expressed excitement about bringing the Tapestry Collection to Cork, citing Hilton’s strong brand recognition and global reach . Alongside a new Tapestry Collection hotel in Plymouth, Hilton anticipates creating approximately 100 jobs .

Expansion of Hilton’s Lifestyle Portfolio

This project supports Hilton’s broader expansion of its lifestyle brands in the UK and Ireland, including Motto by Hilton in Manchester, Tempo by Hilton in Belfast, and Curio Collection by Hilton hotels in London . Nick Smart, vice president for the UK, Ireland, and the Nordics at Hilton, highlighted the company’s commitment to expanding its lifestyle portfolio .

Hilton Honors Loyalty Program

Guests at the new Cork hotel will be able to benefit from Hilton Honors, the company’s guest loyalty program, allowing members to earn points and enjoy benefits such as contactless check-in and exclusive discounts .
