Albright’s Flowers Closing After 89 Years in Columbus
Albright’s Flowers in Columbus, Georgia, will permanently close its doors on Thursday, October 15, 2026, ending nearly nine decades of local business operations.
Generational Roots in Rose Hill and University Avenue
Agnes and Glenn Albright originally established the business in the Rose Hill neighborhood in 1937, developing a continuous partnership with local residents that spanned 89 years. WTVM reported that the shop expanded through several additional acquisitions over the decades before relocating to its current address on University Avenue in 1974. Glenn Albright, Jr. announced the final closure date through a Facebook announcement, drawing a botanical analogy about seeds growing, blooming brightly, and eventually fading. Through a Facebook post, the business detailed that it had given its all in an effort to share talents through birthdays, anniversaries, funerals, get well wishes, weddings, births, churches, and special events. Through this heavy heart, I could not close without extending my love, thanks, and devotion to each one of you that have allowed us to serve you in so many ways,
Glenn Albright, Jr. stated.
