Honor Magic V6: The Thinnest, Most Durable Foldable Yet
Honor unveiled its latest foldable smartphone, the Magic V6, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, showcasing a device focused on slim design, durability and advanced features. The launch included the MagicPad 4 tablet and MagicBook Pro laptop, signaling Honor’s broader push into the mobile computing space. Mashable and The Verge both covered the event.
Thinnest Design and Enhanced Durability
The Honor Magic V6 distinguishes itself with a remarkably thin profile, measuring just 8.75mm when closed – slightly thinner than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 at 8.9mm. When unfolded, it’s only 4mm thick. Honor emphasizes this as the thinnest foldable phone currently available. The device incorporates a high-strength steel structure with a strength limit of 2,800 MPa, exceeding the steel commonly used in automobiles, and is designed to withstand up to 500,000 folds. Notably, the Magic V6 is the first foldable to achieve both IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, offering protection against immersion and high-pressure water jets.
Display and Camera Specifications
The Magic V6 features a 7.95-inch internal AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,352×2,172 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, reaching a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. The external display is a 6.52-inch AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 6,000 nits. Honor has reduced the visibility of the crease on the internal folding display by 44%.
The camera system includes a triple array: a 50-megapixel main camera with optical stabilization, a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
Performance and Battery Life
Powering the Magic V6 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The device boasts a 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery, the largest capacity found in any foldable smartphone to date, and supports 80W wired and 66W wireless charging. The battery has received TÜV Rheinland certification for 24-hour battery life.
Ecosystem Compatibility
Honor has focused on improving compatibility with the Apple ecosystem. Users can utilize the Magic V6’s display as an extended screen for a Mac, synchronize notifications with iPhones, iPads, or Apple Watches, and enjoy easier file sharing and access to iCloud and the iWork suite.
Availability
The Honor Magic V6 will be available in red, gold, silver, and black. It will launch in selected markets in the second half of 2026, with the Chinese release expected later in March. Pricing and availability in the Czech Republic have not yet been announced.
