Huawei Launches FreeBuds Neo in Indonesia with Adaptive Noise Cancellation and 40-Hour Battery Life
Huawei has officially launched the FreeBuds Neo true wireless stereo earbuds in Indonesia, priced at Rp1,799,000, ANTARA reported. Weighing 4.8 grams per earbud—comparable to the weight of an A4 sheet of paper—the device integrates an 11-millimeter Turbo Driver and third-generation audio chips to support high-resolution lossless audio transmission.
The rollout introduces a lightweight stem design shaped from more than 10,000 ear data samples and 150 representative ear profiles to distribute pressure evenly. Alongside standard standalone availability, Huawei structured a purchase-with-purchase promotion offering a Rp400,000 discount when the earbuds are bundled with the Huawei nova 16s Series between October 28 and November 27, 2026, according to Hunted Gadget.
Dedicated audio chip enables adaptive noise cancellation
The FreeBuds Neo features an Adaptive Noise Cancellation system powered by a dedicated audio chip that captures environmental noise data up to 400,000 times per second with an 8-microsecond processing latency. According to Huawei Device Indonesia Senior Retail Manager Edy Supartono, speaking to ANTARA, the dual-channel noise cancellation architecture achieves an average depth of 30 decibels across a broad frequency range, with peak noise reduction reaching 55 decibels as noted by Hunted Gadget.
The earbud drivers respond to frequencies from 10 Hz to 48 kHz. The hardware supports Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, LDAC codec compatibility at 990 Kbps, and an HWA Lossless transmission standard capable of 48 kHz/24-bit audio at bitrates up to 2.3 Mbps. Users also gain access to a spatial audio mode for 3D sound immersion and an AI-driven voice pickup system designed to maintain clarity in environments with background noise levels up to 95 decibels.
Batteries provide up to 40 hours of playback
The earbuds house a 60 mAh battery per unit, while the charging case contains a 460 mAh capacity, delivering a combined total playback time of up to 40 hours. Without active noise cancellation enabled, a single charge provides up to 10 hours of music playback, dropping to 6.5 hours when the feature is active. A 10-minute quick charge yields an additional four hours of use.
The exterior utilizes a light mini stem where 60 percent of the front surface acts as a touch control area for playback, volume, and noise cancellation modes. Additional software features include smart volume reduction that lowers media playback automatically when the user begins speaking, alongside an Awareness Mode for external sound passthrough. The hardware carries an IP55 rating for water splash and dust resistance and connects via Bluetooth 6.0 with support for dual-device pairing.
