Couple Welcomes Twins via Free IVF Treatment at Gandhi Hospital

Hyderabad, Telangana – A couple in Hyderabad, Gaddam Triveni and Masthan Rao, recently celebrated the birth of twins – a boy and a girl – thanks to free In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatment received at Gandhi Hospital. The successful delivery marks a significant achievement for the hospital’s newly established IVF center and offers hope to couples facing fertility challenges.

A Decade-Long Journey to Parenthood

Triveni and Masthan Rao had been trying to conceive for ten years, facing setbacks at multiple private hospitals. After 13 unsuccessful attempts, the couple, who work as agricultural laborers, sought treatment at Gandhi Hospital. The cost of IVF treatment typically ranges from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh, a financial burden the couple could not afford.

Free IVF Services at Gandhi Hospital

Gandhi Hospital’s IVF center provided the couple with comprehensive care, including the IVF procedure, delivery, and necessary medications, all free of charge. Doctors identified unexplained infertility as the primary issue and initiated IVF treatment following a previous failed cycle of ovulation induction and intrauterine insemination (IUI). After one IVF cycle and a subsequent frozen embryo transfer, Triveni successfully conceived twins.

Successful Delivery and Recognition

On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, doctors at Gandhi Hospital performed an elective lower segment caesarean section (LSCS) to safely deliver the twins. Both mother and babies are reported to be in good health.

Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha praised the medical team involved in the successful delivery, specifically recognizing Gandhi Hospital Superintendent Dr. Vani, IVF Center Head Dr. T. Shobha, Dr. Fathima, Dr. Shiva Krishna, and Nursing Officer Lavanya. The Minister encouraged citizens to consider Gandhi Hospital and the Government Maternity Hospital at Petlaburj for IVF treatment and deliveries, highlighting the availability of free services.

Expanding Access to IVF in Telangana

The inauguration of the IVF center at Gandhi Hospital in October 2023 was part of a larger initiative by the Telangana government to expand access to affordable fertility treatments. Two additional IVF centers are planned for Petlaburj Maternity Hospital and MGM Hospital in Warangal, with a total allocation of Rs 16.5 crore for the three facilities.
