Ice Sculptures in Jelgava to Remain Visible After Festival

Ice sculptures on the theme “The Power of Illusion” will be available for viewing as long as the weather permits.

Residents should take into account that part of the territory of the Post Island around the open-air concert hall “Mītava” will still be accessible only for an entrance fee.

On Monday, the work of organizing the festival area is being carried out on the Post Island, therefore the Post Island is closed to visitors.

On the other hand, from February 10, the sculptures will be on display every day from 11 to 20.

Agency LETA already reported that the Mongolian team was recognized as the best in the International Ice Sculpture Competition. The first place in the competition was awarded to Mongolian artists for the work “Self-imposed Liberation”.

The second place in the competition was won by the Ukrainian team with the work “Portrait Breakout”, and the third place by Estonian representatives with the sculpture “Mirage of Lines”.

Individually, the first place was won by the representative of Lithuania Tautvils Povilionis with the sculpture “One step”, the second place was won by the representative of Germany Evangels Stafilidis with the work “Weight of Illusion”, and the third place was won by the representative of Indonesia I Made Sutama with the work “Maya”.
