Idaho Vandals Dominate Montana Griz in Big Sky Conference Matchup

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho Vandals secured a decisive 6-1 victory over the University of Montana Grizzlies on Saturday in a P1FCU Kibbie Dome showdown. With this win, Idaho’s overall record improves to 8-6, remaining undefeated in Big Sky Conference play.

Doubles Competition Sets the Tone

The Vandals established an early lead by winning the doubles point. The newly paired duo of Chenyue Xu and Naomi Schraeder showcased strong synergy, defeating Kelsey Phillips and Meghna Anand 6-3 on court one. Ida Johansson and Hanna Koprowska continued their successful partnership, securing their ninth win of the season with a 6-2 victory over Paige Bott and Kaylin Kielty. The match on court three was left unfinished, with Montana holding a 3-5 advantage.

Vandals Excel in Singles Play

Idaho carried their momentum into singles competition, winning five of the six matches. Naomi Schraeder battled through a challenging three-set match on court two, overcoming a first-set loss (4-6) to win the subsequent sets 6-3 and 7-5. Hanna Koprowska and Ida Johansson each secured their victories in two closely contested sets on courts three and four, respectively. Koprowska won 7-5, 6-2, although Johansson prevailed 7-5, 7-6. Valentina Rodas and Soha Singh completed the Vandals’ dominance, winning their matches in straight sets with scores of 6-3, 6-2 and 6-3, 7-5.
