Along the way, players must be astute in identifying and marking various anomalies that appear around them. The official description from Aximus Games explains, “In Lost in Anomalyyou wake up on the 9th floor of an unknown building. Your goal is to reach the first floor and escape from here. To get out of here, you have to detect and flag anomalies.” The description continues, “If you have marked all the anomalies, the elevator will take you to the bottom floor. You have to check each place well and mark accordingly because if you miss the anomaly, the elevator will take you back to the 9th floor.” The slightest mistake can cause players to lose all progress and have to start over.

Although Lost in Anomaly still in status early accessthe game hasn’t received an update from the developer in over a year. Therefore, the version currently available on Steam can be considered the most complete version that players can enjoy. Aximus Games’ initial plan is to release the full version in the second quarter of 2025, but they also stated that this schedule could change depending on features added and development progress.

According to Mureks’ monitoring, this game has received mostly positive reviews from players. Of the 11 user reviews submitted on Steam, only five are negative. The main complaint often mentioned is the level of difficulty Lost in Anomaly high and numerous jumpscare throughout the game.

Lost in Anomaly occupies a similar genre space to The Exit 8 from developer Kotake Create, a walking simulator others that also offer an unexpected horror experience. Both games require players to pay attention to sudden changes in the surrounding environment in order to stay on the right track.
