The determined average monthly insurance income for the country for the specified period is used in calculating the amounts of the newly granted pensions in the month of January 2026, according to Art. 70, para. 3 of the Social Security Code.
Compared to November, the average insurance income increased, as it was then BGN 1,933.57. For the previous year (November 2024), this indicator was BGN 1,712.53.
In October 2025, the insurance income was BGN 1,879.58.
Average social security income hits a new high in September
In August, the average insurance income was BGN 1,858.85, and for the previous two months – July and June – BGN 1,844.98 and BGN 1,839.37, respectively. Compared to them, the September value shows not only an upward trend, but also a new highest result for the year, surpassing even the April and May levels, which were the highest for the year so far.
In January, the average insurance income was BGN 1,733.28, in February – BGN 1,738.01, and in March – BGN 1,777.36.
