Tangerang, Indonesia – Jimmy Lie, a fugitive wanted by Interpol, has been arrested in Penang, Malaysia, in connection with a bribery case involving the processing of land certificates through the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) program in Tangerang Regency. Investigations revealed that bribes were allegedly offered to accelerate the document processing.

Alleged Bribery Amount

Authorities allege that Jimmy Lie bribed the village head with Rp 960 million (approximately $60,000 USD based on current exchange rates) to facilitate the processing of the documents, bypassing official procedures outlined in the PTSL program guidelines. Previous Convictions

Prior to Jimmy Lie’s arrest, four individuals had already been tried and convicted in the Corruption Court (Tipikor) in Serang, Banten. Hasbullah received a sentence of 2 years and 9 months, H Sueb was sentenced to 1 year and 9 months, Iman Nugraha received 1 year and 9 months and Raden Febie Firmansyah was also sentenced to 1 year and 9 months in prison.
