The defining hardware upgrade for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup centers on a redesigned 48-megapixel main camera featuring a variable physical aperture. In low-light conditions, the aperture widens to ƒ/1.48 to capture roughly 50 percent more light than previous models. The camera interface also gains native manual adjustments for shutter speed, white balance, histograms, and focus peaking, letting users customize parameters directly within Apple’s default camera application.

A20 Pro Performance and Vapor Chamber Cooling

Under the hood, both devices run on the new A20 Pro chip, manufactured using a 2-nanometer transistor architecture that improves density and energy efficiency. Design Refinements and Reduced Dynamic Island

Externally, the chassis maintains a familiar silhouette while accommodating larger internal components and heavier battery modules. The most noticeable front-facing adjustment is a smaller Dynamic Island capable of displaying up to three live activities simultaneously.
