IDF Plans Continued Operations Against Iran Amidst Ongoing Attacks
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is planning at least three more weeks of operations against Iran, following a recent escalation in hostilities. This current campaign differs significantly from the 12-day war in June 2025, being far more extensive in scope and aiming to address both the immediate and long-term threats posed by Iran, according to IDF officials International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
Recent Attacks and Damage
Over the weekend, Iran continued launching rockets into Israel, targeting cities including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Rishon LeZion, and Zefat. These attacks have resulted in damage to homes, synagogues, and businesses. Although IDF operations have reduced the number of incoming missiles, many residents, particularly the elderly, have been displaced or are sheltering in bomb shelters. Injuries have been reported, though no fatalities have been confirmed as of Sunday International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
On Sunday morning, at least seven sites across central Israel were hit by missile fragments. Fifteen people were wounded, including one man (53) who sustained moderate injuries from a shockwave. IDF Objectives
The IDF’s current strategy extends beyond countering the threat of Iran developing a nuclear weapon. Officials state the goal is to systematically degrade Iran’s entire defense industry, including its ballistic missile capabilities and nuclear program International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. This includes targeting military bodies and private companies involved in the manufacturing of weapon systems, cyber capabilities, and even spy satellites.
Previous Attacks
On Saturday night, at least 84 people were wounded, including 10 seriously, after an Iranian ballistic missile struck a building in Arad. A five-year-old was among those seriously injured The Jerusalem Post.
