IRGC Commander Declares Full Combat Readiness Amidst Regional Tensions

In a strongly worded statement released on Thursday, Major General mohammad Pakpour, Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), affirmed the organization’s complete preparedness to carry out the directives of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme leader. This declaration comes against a backdrop of escalating tensions with the United States and Israel.

Delivering his message in observance of the annual “IRGC Guards Day,” General Pakpour drew parallels between the historical importance of the battle of Karbala and the contemporary mission of the IRGC, emphasizing a commitment to defending national interests. He asserted that IRGC forces are “at the trigger, more prepared than ever,” presenting a “united and steeled front” dedicated to bolstering the nation’s security.

The IRGC’s heightened alert level follows accusations from Iranian officials that the US and Israel are exploiting recent protests, initially sparked by economic grievances and rising prices, and instigating violent unrest within the country.

General Pakpour issued a direct warning to Washington and Jerusalem, characterizing them as “criminal, villainous, and anti-human” adversaries. He cautioned against any strategic miscalculations, alluding to the potential for repercussions exceeding those of previous confrontations. The commander underscored that any perceived misstep would result in a “more painful and regrettable fate” for those involved.

the statement concluded with a respectful remembrance of fallen IRGC commanders, notably including the late General Qasem Soleimani, formerly of the Quds Force, and reaffirmed the IRGC’s unwavering dedication to its responsibilities under the leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei.
