Iran Vows Retaliation After Strikes, Revolutionary Guard Warns US Citizens
On the third day of joint US-Israeli strikes against Iran, the Islamic Republic has vowed to respond, with its Revolutionary Guard issuing a stark warning that citizens of the United States “will no longer be safe.” The escalating tensions follow reported strikes within Iranian territory, raising concerns about a wider regional conflict.
Iran’s Response
The Quds Force of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard stated, according to Iranian state television, “The enemy must know that their happy days are over and they will no longer be safe anywhere in the world, not even in their own homes.” This statement signals a potential shift towards targeting individuals associated with the US and Israel, extending beyond direct military engagements.
Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian echoed this sentiment, asserting that Iran “will not leave things unanswered.” He condemned attacks on hospitals and schools, stating, “Attacks on hospitals affect life itself. Attacks on schools affect the future of a nation… The world must condemn them.” Pezeshkian further emphasized, “Iran will not leave them unanswered and will not back down in the face of these crimes,” as posted on his X account on March 2, 2026.
Reports of Casualties and Damage
Tehran has reported that 168 people, primarily girls, were killed in a strike on a school in the south of the country on Saturday. However, both the US and Israel have not yet confirmed this attack. The veracity of these claims remains under investigation.
International Condemnation and Concerns
President Pezeshkian’s statement highlights the Iranian government’s view that targeting civilians and critical infrastructure constitutes a violation of international humanitarian principles. He called for global condemnation of such actions.
The situation remains highly volatile, with the potential for further escalation. The warnings issued by the Revolutionary Guard raise serious concerns about the safety of US citizens and the possibility of retaliatory attacks extending beyond the Middle East.
