Jack White Criticizes Trump Following Iran Strikes
Following the U.S. And Israel’s launch of “Operation Epic Fury” against Iran on Saturday, February 28, 2026, musician Jack White took to social media to voice his criticism of President Donald Trump’s actions and perceived hypocrisy.
White’s Social Media Commentary
White questioned Trump’s leadership, posting on social media, “Don’t you love seeing him declare war on a country while wearing a trucker hat that says ‘USA’ on it?” The post was accompanied by an image from Trump’s video statement announcing the joint military campaign.
He continued, referring to Trump as “the leader of the ‘Board of Peace,’” and sarcastically suggested future announcements be made in a more casual setting: “For the next war announcement donny, may I suggest having your feet up on the Resolute desk while eating a Big Mac in a velvet track suit?”
Criticism of Trump’s Peace Efforts
White also highlighted what he sees as a contradiction in Trump’s foreign policy, pointing out the president’s pursuit of a Nobel Peace Prize despite aggressive actions towards other nations. “Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, Cuba, what’s the difference right?” he wrote.
He further commented on the potential human cost of the conflict, stating, “Don jr. And barron won’t have to fight or die, just other people’s children, so…invade and bomb away! New sign ups for the ‘board of peace’ starting at one billion dollars! Can you believe donny hasn’t received a real Nobel Peace Prize yet? Unfair! Maybe in his third term he’ll get one.”
Operation Epic Fury and Trump’s Statement
White was among the first public figures to comment on Operation Epic Fury after Trump announced the military campaign against Iran, which he described as a “very wicked, radical dictatorship.” Reuters reported on the operation, noting it was the second time the U.S. Has carried out strikes on Iran since Trump’s return to the White House last year.
Trump stated, “The Iranian regime seeks to kill,” and acknowledged the potential for American casualties, saying, “The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost and we may have casualties. That often happens in war, but we’re doing this not for now. We’re doing this for the future, and it is a noble mission.” NBC News also covered the announcement and the subsequent retaliatory strikes by Iran against U.S. Military facilities in the Middle East.
White’s Previous Criticism of Trump
White has a history of publicly criticizing Trump on social media. He has previously denounced the president for racist posts and mocked him after a White House press briefing. He also criticized Trump’s response to the death of Rob Reiner.
