Teton County Community Tennis Association Drives Racquet Sports Access in Jackson, Wyoming
The Teton County Community Tennis Association (TCCTA) is dedicated to expanding access to tennis and racquet sports for residents and visitors of all ages and skill levels in the Jackson, Wyoming area. Focused on developing affordable, year-round indoor and outdoor court facilities and programs, the TCCTA aims to make tennis a lifelong pursuit for everyone in the community.
Expanding Opportunities Through Programs and Events
The TCCTA offers a variety of programs and events throughout the year, catering to different age groups and abilities. Recent offerings include:
- Red Ball Tennis: Tuesdays from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rec Center (starting November 18th).
- Weekly Tennis Mixers (Adult/Teen): Saturdays and Sundays from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM and 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM respectively, at the Rec Center (starting November 22nd and 23rd). These mixers focus on Red and Orange ball play.
- Summer Events: The TCCTA hosted free weekly doubles mixers, a singles tennis ladder, and a sanctioned tennis tournament in August 2025, featuring separate draws for teens and adults.
- May is National Tennis Month: The TCCTA participated in National Tennis Month in May 2025 and plans to continue this involvement in future years.
- Spring into Summer Tennis Kids Day: A free event held on May 17th, 2025, from 9:00 AM to Noon.
Campaign for Covered Courts
A key initiative of the TCCTA is the campaign to build covered courts in Teton County. This project aims to provide year-round access to tennis facilities, regardless of weather conditions. The TCCTA is actively seeking feasible locations, community partners, and fundraising opportunities to bring this vision to life. Supporters are encouraged to sign the petition to demonstrate community support for the project.
Community Involvement and Support
The TCCTA actively engages with the local community, including participation in events like the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole Old Bill’s Giving Season as highlighted on Instagram. The organization also collaborates with the Teton County Parks and Recreation department to offer weekend mixers and Red Ball Tennis programs.
