Jake Paul Undergoes Second Surgery for Broken Jaw

Jake Paul recently underwent a second surgical procedure to address complications from the broken jaw he sustained during his December 19th knockout loss to Anthony Joshua. The issue arose from screws and plates loosening, despite initial recommendations for rest .

Paul (12-2) initially fractured his jaw in two places during the sixth-round defeat by Joshua, a former two-time unified heavyweight champion. He revealed the injury immediately following the fight. The first surgery, performed on December 20th, involved the insertion of two titanium plates on each side of his jaw and the removal of teeth .

While Paul had expressed intentions to return to boxing quickly, this second procedure will likely delay his return to the ring. Despite the injury, Paul has remained active on social media and recently celebrated his fiancée, Jutta Leerdam, after her record-breaking gold medal win in the women’s 1,000-meter speedskating competition at the 2026 Winter Olympics .
