A 63-year-old man was arrested and charged with felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor criminal trespass after driving his vehicle through the security gate of an East Hampton estate owned by Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter and Beyoncé. Authorities confirmed the incident resulted in property damage but stated there is no evidence the couple was specifically targeted.
The Collision and Immediate Aftermath
The collision occurred when the driver accelerated up the driveway of the waterfront residence, striking the mechanical gate without braking. Law enforcement took the man into custody at the scene. He was subsequently transported to Stony Brook Hospital for evaluation after reporting pain.

Detective Sgt. Jennifer Dunn of the East Hampton Town Police Department confirmed to Page Six that investigators found no indication the driver intended to harm the homeowners. “He did not make any threats or mention names of the residents,” Dunn stated. “It could just be chance he picked that house if he was having a medical issue.”

Prior to arriving at the Carter residence, the man had reportedly stopped at another nearby property while searching for a woman who did not reside there.
