Suspects Eggy Sudjana adn Damai Hari Lubis, facing defamation charges related to alleged fake diplomas, met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in Solo, Central Java, on thursday, January 8, 2026.
According to detikJateng,the meeting took place behind closed doors at Jokowi’s residence. Security around the President’s home was heightened beginning at 3:45 PM local time as news of the expected visit circulated.
President Jokowi arrived at his residence at 3:47 PM, while the exact arrival time of Sudjana and Lubis remains unknown. Around 6:30 PM, individuals were observed leaving the residence, followed shortly by President Jokowi.
kompol Syarif Fitriansyah,an aide to President Jokowi,confirmed the meeting,stating that Sudjana and Lubis visited to express their goodwill towards the President. “Yes, that’s right. This afternoon, Mr. joko Widodo received a kind visit from Brother Eggy Sudjana and Brother Damai Hari Lubis,” Syarif stated. He further noted that Elida Netty, representing Eggy Sudjana as legal counsel, and Darmizal and Rakhmad, Chairman and Secretary general of Jokowi Volunteers (ReJO), respectively, accompanied the suspects.
