The Cincinnati Bengals signaled an aggressive roster approach with the Dexter Lawrence trade, leaving front office executives like Duke Tobin facing questions about further moves as the NFL trade deadline approaches. Nothing said the team was “all in” more than the Lawrence deal, and with some obvious problems on the roster, suggesting big trades is no longer unrealistic.
Amid these roster considerations, Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker has been listed as a fit for the Cincinnati Bengals by CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani. Baker is regarded as one of the league’s top safeties, currently playing on a 2-4 Arizona squad. The Cardinals have already traded Marvin Harrison Jr., and with Baker under contract only through 2027, he represents an asset that his organization could look to move.
Evaluating Baker’s Recent Performance
Dajani highlighted the defensive star’s capabilities following a strong showing in Arizona’s recent upset victory over the Rams. According to Dajani, Baker is still a stud, as evidenced by the Cardinals’ upset win on Sunday.

During that contest, Baker tallied six tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss, and one pass defensed. He prevented at least one touchdown and effectively blitzed the quarterback and stopped running backs, prompting the assessment: Someone come get him.
Injuries Leave Bengals Roster Depth in Question
Despite outside projections linking Baker to Cincinnati, the organization maintains a firm stance on its existing personnel. The Bengals are adamant that Jordan Battle remains the solution next to Bryan Cook, while also carrying Kyle Dugger as a rotational third option.
However, all three players battled various levels of injuries prior to the team’s bye week. As the trade deadline nears, these health concerns leave open the question of whether Duke Tobin and the front office will explore adding solid depth or additional starters to address the roster’s ongoing issues.
