Nathan Fielder Documentary Sparks Demand Ahead of UK Release
Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s three-hour documentary exploring disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes has generated a $15m (£11.3m) opening weekend in the United States, driving a surge of pre-sales ahead of its UK cinematic release on 20 November. Exhibitors report that more than 70% of the opening-weekend audience in the US was under 35, marking the biggest documentary opening in over two decades across 855 cinemas.
The film, titled You Can See Everything, builds on online debate surrounding Holmes. It features Fielder spending a month with Holmes, blurring the boundaries between documentary and performance in what The Guardian described as “a modern masterpiece of deceit.”
Picturehouse Cinemas Sees Barbie-Sized Enthusiasm for Elizabeth Holmes Film
Clare Binns, creative director of Picturehouse Cinemas, stated that the intense public excitement mirrors the reception of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie in 2023. Picturehouse Central in London began selling tickets before the US premiere, forcing the chain to add extra screenings. At the Ritzy in Brixton, initial screenings nearly sold out, prompting a second scheduled showing to accommodate demand.
Binns noted that the documentary proves younger demographics are actively seeking shared theatrical experiences rather than watching alone at home. She pointed to titles like Backrooms, Obsession, and NAZA as evidence of a shifting cinema audience hungry for unconventional storytelling.

Cineworld and Vue Expand Screenings Across UK Venues
Major UK chains have scrambled to add capacity as ticket sales accelerate. Stuart Crane, international vice-president of content at Cineworld, called the speed and scale of demand remarkable after initial screenings at Cineworld Leicester Square sold out following Sunday ticket releases across roughly 40 cinemas. Cineworld subsequently added more Leicester Square showings and expanded bookings to another 35 nationwide locations.
Vue has recorded parallel enthusiasm. Dean Cross, senior screen content manager at Vue, reported heavy buzz among both industry professionals and younger moviegoers. Momentum for the project originally ignited in September during a secret screening at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, where attendees surrendered their phones. A concurrent teaser trailer went viral, prompting Holmes herself to join online discussions by replying to tweets about the project.
Everything Opens in UK Cinemas on 20 November
You Can See Everything is scheduled to open officially in UK cinemas on 20 November, with major chains currently running advanced bookings and adding screens to match the pre-release demand.
