Canadiens Triumph Over Panthers in Overtime, Slafkovský Contributes

In overtime, Montreal capitalized on a power play initiated by Slafkovský’s offensive contribution, ultimately leading to Suzuki’s game-winning goal.
Slafkovský finished with 19:53 minutes played, including two blocked shots and one hit. While he didn’t add to the Canadiens’ scoring this game, he had been on a four-game scoring streak prior. He also created a important scoring chance for Caufield, which was denied by Florida’s Tarasov with a strong save.
“I think it was one of our most complex games. We stayed focused even when we were down by two goals. We ended up winning in overtime. I think we were the better team and we deserved to win,” Suzuki stated, according to nhl.com.
Florida’s Marchand extended his point streak to nine games, having recently been recognized for reaching 1,000 career points. Panthers coach Paul Maurice expressed his disappointment following the loss.
