Kanye West St. Petersburg Concerts Canceled After Venue Dispute
Kanye West will not perform two sold-out concerts at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg on October 10 and 11, 2026, after months of conflicting announcements between promoters and venue management, apostrophe.ua reported. Organizers at Moscow-based Say Agency confirmed the cancellations on Thursday, October 1, 2026, stating that ticket refunds will open on October 12, 2026.
The cancellation follows weeks of public confusion regarding the booking of the stadium.
Gazprom Arena Denies Rental Agreement as Promoters Insist on Plans
The dispute centers on a disagreement between the venue and the event promoters regarding contracts and official approvals. Meanwhile, Say Agency maintained that preparation for the concerts continued in the standard manner.
The ticket sales generated immediate public interest, with prices ranging from 9,000 to 160,000 rubles. However, the lack of a finalized venue contract created financial uncertainty for ticketholders, particularly regarding refund terms for tickets purchased between August 14 and August 23, 2026.
Political Opposition and International Controversy Surround the Tour
West’s international schedule has faced similar disruptions throughout 2026. A scheduled performance in France was postponed in April after the artist failed to secure a British visa, leading to the cancellation of his appearance at the Wireless festival in London. In July, the mayor of Reggio Emilia in Italy banned a planned concert at the RCF Arena following objections from the local Jewish community regarding the rapper’s past antisemitic statements.
