Kayserispor head coach Atila Gerin highlighted a historic milestone after the match, telling reporters that his side secured the club’s first away win in Antalya since 1977. Antalyaspor manager Osman Özköylü described the 4-0 defeat as a major disappointment following a three-match winning streak, citing early defensive lapses and three player injuries during the match. It was a disappointment for us.
Özköylü said, adding, The result was completely unexpected. Unfortunately, we conceded four goals due to individual mistakes. Perhaps even the opponent was surprised today; they didn’t expect such a decisive victory. It was a truly unlucky match for us today. Both the things that happened during the game, the individual mistakes, and the three injuries we suffered, plus a 4-0 defeat. Unfortunately, every possible setback and misfortune befell us today. We will try to find a way to recover as soon as possible. After three wins in the last three weeks, just when we thought, ‘We’ve gotten back on our feet, we’ll look ahead and be better,’ today’s defeat has hurt us a bit. But we need to be strong. Hopefully, we will take Antalyaspor to much better places and achieve results that will make everyone happy.
Atila Gerin also stated, A big thank you to everyone involved, those who came and went. I think we haven’t won in Antalya since 1977. Almost half a century. It was our players, it was our destiny, to turn that around. We will continue to work hard and strive. We will try to continue from where we left off. We will build on it step by step.
