Kelsey Parker Welcomes ‘Rainbow Baby’ After Devastating Stillbirth

The 36-year-old podcaster shared the news on Instagram in a short clip featuring a sonogram alongside the hands of her children, Bodhi and Aurelia, whom she shares with her late husband, Tom Parker of The Wanted.

Pregnancy Announcement Following the Loss of Phoenix

The pregnancy announcement comes ahead of the one-year anniversary of the loss of Parker’s baby boy, Phoenix, who was born sleeping at 39 weeks. In her Instagram caption reported by The Independent, Parker wrote that “Tom and Phoenix have sent us another little gift from heaven, our little rainbow baby.” Celebrities including Susanna Reid and TV presenter Anna Williamson shared public messages of congratulations following the announcement.

Trauma and Institutional Apology Over Stillbirth Response

Parker has previously spoken publicly about the traumatic circumstances surrounding the stillbirth last year. During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Parker explained that because the delivery happened so quickly, her midwife was unable to arrive in time and had to attend via FaceTime, according to The Independent. Parker described how police and paramedics arrived and treated her home like a crime scene due to the lack of a medical handover. She was subsequently taken to A&E and made to wait in a maternity waiting area with a police officer stationed outside her room.

Following the incident, Parker met with the ambulance service, which issued an apology and explained that the attending paramedics had not previously encountered a stillbirth. The Metropolitan Police also issued a statement acknowledging the situation to The Independent, stating: “We understand that this is a deeply traumatic experience, we acknowledge that referring to the address as a crime scene was inappropriate and that the family could and should have been treated in a more sensitive way. A detective inspector has offered to meet with the family alongside a child bereavement nurse.”
