KentuckyS Berezowitz Familiar with Regional Final Opponent Creighton

When the Kentucky volleyball team plays in Saturday’s regional final (5 p.m. ET, ESPN2), junior Molly berezowitz will face some familiar opponents. It’s a matchup she’s seen before.

Berezowitz transferred to Kentucky this season from Marquette, and she’s faced Creighton five times in her college career. She knows the Blue Jays well.

“When I was at Marquette, they were our biggest rivals, so we played them three times last year,” Berezowitz said. “I actually wanted to play them as it’s different this year, of course. They have a good offense and a lot of experience.it’s going to be a challenging game.”

Berezowitz emphasized Creighton’s experience. “Those girls have been there forever, it feels like,” she said. “I’ve played them for three years in a row. They have a lot of competitive maturity, and so do we. They’re a really good team – always fun to play, and they’re nice girls.”

UK head coach Craig Skinner agrees that Creighton is a formidable opponent, and more than just a couple of key players.

“Looking forward to playing Creighton. They’ve had a lot of success this year and present a lot of challenges with their offense and how they play,” Skinner said. “It’s going to be exciting.”
