As the snow begins to fade, Keystone Resort is preparing to wrap up its 55th season. The resort has officially announced that it will close for the year on Sunday, April 5, with a series of “Springtastic” closing weekend events scheduled for April 4-5.
While the resort is celebrating its milestone season, not every planned activity will make the cut. Due to insufficient snow levels, several high-profile events have been removed from the schedule.
Pond Skim and Rail Jam Canceled
Keystone Resort has confirmed via a Facebook post that the originally planned Pond Skim & Rail Jam will not accept place this year. Mountain operations directors Kate Schifani and Connor Green explained that the resort simply lacks the necessary snow to host the event. “Unfortunately, summer came early and our snow went on vacation already,” Schifani noted in the announcement.
Remaining Closing Weekend Highlights
Despite the cancellation of the pond skim, visitors can still enjoy several festivities during the final weekend of operations on April 4 and 5. The following events will proceed as planned:
- Live Music: DJ sets will be held at Summit House from 11 a.m. To 3 p.m. On both Saturday and Sunday.
- Costume Contests: Guests can participate in costume contests with prizes, scheduled for 1 p.m. On both days.
- Anniversary Specials: To commemorate the resort’s 55th season, hot dogs and draft beer will be sold for $5.50.
