KFC Ascends to the Italian Alps
KFC is trading city centers for summits. On December 5, 2026, the fast-food chain will debut its first two ski-slope restaurants in Italy, planting its flag in the high-altitude terrain of Madonna di Campiglio and Cortina d’Ampezzo. The move marks a departure from traditional urban expansion, made possible through a partnership with the hospitality group SUPER G.
High-Altitude Dining at 2,123 Meters
The expansion puts the American brand directly onto the slopes. In Madonna di Campiglio, the new outlet will sit at 1,700 meters in the Piana di Nambino area, situated next to the Meraviglioso Campiglio venue. Higher still, the Cortina d’Ampezzo location will operate within the Faloria Mountain Club at 2,123 meters, offering panoramic views of the Monte Faloria-Cristallo area.
Après-Ski Service Schedules
The mountain venues are strictly seasonal. Both locations are set to shutter at the end of the 2026/27 winter season. Service will run from 12:00 to 17:00, Monday through Thursday, with hours extending to 19:30 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to capture the après-ski crowd.

Bridging the Brand and the Mountain
KFC Italia’s Chief Marketing Officer, Marzia Farè, stated that the project aims to reach unexpected locations while maintaining the brand’s core menu, including Tender Crispy, spicy wings, and buckets. Farè noted that the move is intended to engage a diverse audience, ranging from young families to mountain enthusiasts. Andrea Baccuini, founder of SUPER G, described the collaboration as an effort to integrate an international brand into the existing mountain club experience, thereby broadening the range of options available to visitors.
National Growth and Job Creation
These winter openings are a specific piece of a broader Italian development strategy. KFC is pushing toward a target of 185 restaurants nationwide by the end of 2026. The company reported a 22% increase in revenue compared to 2025 and anticipates the creation of over 800 new jobs.
The Mountain Menu
Despite the remote locations, the menu remains unchanged. The outlets will serve the standard lineup of hand-breaded, fried-to-order chicken, sandwiches, and sides, maintaining parity with their urban counterparts.
