KGM Torres & Actyon Hybrid: Fuel-Efficient & Affordable Options

KGM Launches Hybrid Powertrains for Torres and Actyon SUVs

KGM, formerly known as SsangYong, is bolstering its lineup with the introduction of hybrid powertrains for both the Torres and Actyon SUVs. This move aims to enhance fuel efficiency and provide consumers with more economical options without a significant price increase.

New DTH Hybrid Technology

The new hybrid system, dubbed DTH (Dual-Tech Hybrid), is built around KGM’s 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. Combined with an electric motor, the system delivers a total output of 204 horsepower and 300 Newton-meters of torque. The electric motor, capable of 130 kW on its own, serves as the primary drive, offering a driving experience reminiscent of a fully electric vehicle, particularly during start-ups and low-speed operation.

Real-World Fuel Efficiency

KGM emphasizes that the hybrid system isn’t just efficient on paper but also in real-world driving conditions. The Torres Hybrid, for example, is projected to achieve a combined fuel consumption of 5.85 liters per 100 kilometers, representing a 2.6-liter improvement over the standard petrol version. Testing has shown approximately 6.2 liters per 100 kilometers in city and suburban driving, and around 7 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway.

Pricing and Value

The hybrid technology comes at a reasonable cost, with a surcharge of CZK 52,900 for the Torres and CZK 60,000 for the Actyon. This translates to a starting price of CZK 755,700 for the Torres Hybrid and CZK 919,900 for the Actyon Hybrid.

Standard Features and Warranty

The base model Torres includes features such as 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, and a six-speaker audio system. The Actyon offers even more, with a leather-wrapped, heated steering wheel and front seats (including ventilation), tinted windows, and adaptive cruise control.

All KGM vehicles come standard with a 5-year/100,000 km factory warranty, and the hybrid system battery is covered for 8 years or 160,000 km.
