A 31-year-old man was arrested by Hong Kong police after allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend with a wooden hammer in Kwai Chung, breaking into her room and causing head and hand injuries.
The incident occurred on Friday evening at approximately 9:48 PM in a unit on Peel Lane in Kwai Chung, where the woman, identified as a 21-year-old surnamed Zhang, had fled after an argument with her former partner.
Police responded to the scene and found that the suspect, a 31-year-old man surnamed Ho, had used a wooden hammer to smash the bedroom door before continuing the assault, also damaging the victim’s mobile phone.
The suspect has been detained on suspicion of assault causing bodily harm and criminal damage and remains in police custody for further investigation by the Kwai Tsing Police District’s Criminal Investigation Unit.
The woman was treated at the scene by emergency medical services and transported to hospital while conscious for treatment of her injuries.
