SUV Jumps Curb, Injures Six in Downtown Los Angeles Flower District
Six people were injured after an SUV lost control and drove onto the sidewalk in downtown Los Angeles’ flower district on Tuesday, February 25, 2026, at approximately 11:45 a.m. The vehicle struck four pedestrians before crashing into a tree, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Details of the Incident
The driver, traveling eastbound on 8th Street, lost control of the vehicle, veering left across opposing lanes and onto the sidewalk. Security footage shows the SUV smashing through a vendor stand before colliding with a tree. Flowers and debris were scattered across the area.
Injuries and Hospitalizations
A total of six people were transported to hospitals. Two victims were reported to be in serious condition, whereas three sustained non-life-threatening injuries. One person was treated at the scene and released, according to Los Angeles Fire Department Firefighter Margaret Stewart.
