2028 LA Olympics Soccer Tournament Schedule Revealed, Tickets Available

Los Angeles, CA – The schedule for the soccer tournaments at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles has been unveiled, with matches beginning four days before the official opening ceremony. The extended competition window, a first for Olympic soccer, is designed to provide athletes with increased rest throughout the tournament.

Tournament Kickoff and Schedule Highlights

The men’s soccer competition will commence on July 10, 2028, with group stage matches held across four cities: New York, Columbus (Ohio), Nashville (Tennessee) and St. Louis (Missouri). The women’s tournament will follow on July 11, expanding the competition to include San José and San Diego as host cities.

This year’s Olympic soccer tournaments will feature a new format with 12 women’s teams and 8 men’s teams competing for the gold medal. The International Olympic Committee Executive Board approved the expanded format to ensure each team receives two extra days of rest between matches.

Key dates include:

  • Men’s Knockout Round: Begins July 20
  • Women’s Quarterfinal Play: Begins July 21, including a match at the Rose Bowl
  • Semifinals (Men’s & Women’s): July 24 at the Rose Bowl

Venue Distribution

SnapDragon Stadium in San Diego will host the most matches of any venue, with a total of 11 games, including women’s group stage matches, a women’s quarterfinal, both semifinal matches, and both bronze medal matches. The Rose Bowl in Pasadena will host five matches, including the men’s and women’s semifinals and gold medal matches. Other venues include stadiums in New York, Columbus, Nashville, and St. Louis.

Ticket Information

LA28 has announced additional ticket opportunities for the soccer competition, allowing fans to purchase up to 12 soccer tickets in addition to the existing 12-ticket maximum for all other Olympic events. The opening and closing ceremonies each have a four-ticket limit.

Ticket registration for the first ticket drop closes on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Tickets will first be available to residents of Southern California and Oklahoma starting April 2. The general public ticket drop begins April 9. Those selected to participate in the first ticket drop will be notified via email between March 31 and April 7 with details and assigned purchase times.

Over 5 million fans have already registered for Olympic tickets, and LA28 anticipates selling 14 million tickets, potentially surpassing the record set by Paris in 2024.

Women’s Tournament Returns to the U.S.
