Labrinth Expresses Discontent with Columbia Records and ‘Euphoria’

Labrinth, the British singer, songwriter, and record producer, publicly voiced his frustration with Columbia Records and the HBO series Euphoria in a cryptic social media post on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Outspoken Message

The artist shared a stark message on Instagram, stating, “I’M DONE WITH THIS INDUSTRY,” followed by “F–K COLUMBIA. DOUBLE F–K EUPHORIA.” He concluded with, “I’M OUT. THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT X.”

Recent Work and Euphoria Involvement

Labrinth recently released his album Cosmic Opera Act I in January via Columbia Records, to which he has been signed since 2019. He too teased modern music on Instagram on March 4, potentially related to his score for the third season of Euphoria, which is set to premiere on April 12.

Labrinth has been closely involved with Euphoria and its creator, Sam Levinson, since the show’s inception in 2019, composing, producing, and occasionally performing songs for the soundtracks of seasons one and two. His song “I’m Tired,” featuring Zendaya, reached No. 53 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Past Reflections on Scoring Euphoria

In a 2022 interview with Billboard, Labrinth described his initial reluctance towards composing for television, but was ultimately drawn in by Sam Levinson’s passion for the show. He likened the process to “method acting with music,” enjoying the diverse musical styles required for Euphoria. Billboard

Career Background

Labrinth began his career in 2010 with the single “Let the Sun Shine.” His debut album, Electronic Earth, was released in 2012. He was initially signed to Syco Music, Simon Cowell’s record label, before transitioning to Columbia Records.

Labrinth is also a member of the supergroup LSD, formed in 2018 with Sia and Diplo, and released their debut album in 2019. He won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2019 for his work on the Euphoria Season 1 Official Score, specifically for the single “All for Us”. Wikipedia
