Textile Artist Silke Brings Creativity Seminar to Corrientes Cultural Spaces
Renowned textile artist and batik pioneer Silke will lead a three-day creativity seminar titled “Silke y la seda. Técnicas, vida y obra” across multiple cultural venues in Corrientes from September 18 to September 20, according to an announcement from the Centro Cultural Siete Corrientes. The event is organized by the Centro Cultural Siete Corrientes with support from the Instituto de Cultura de Corrientes, offering participants a comprehensive look at the artist’s career, life experiences, and mastery of ancestral textile techniques.
### Seminar Schedule Across Corrientes Venues
The seminar opens on Friday, September 18, at 5 p.m. on the fourth floor of the Auditorio Salón at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Corrientes (MACC). Sessions continue on Saturday, September 19, starting at 7 p.m. at the Museo de Bellas Artes “Dr. Juan R. Vidal”, and conclude on Sunday, September 20, at 6 p.m. at the Centro Cultural Siete Corrientes theater, where participants will also receive certificates of completion.

### Seven Decades of Textile Innovation and Teaching
Born in Austria and based in Buenos Aires for over 70 years, Silke stands as a foundational figure in Argentine textile arts. As a pioneer in the use of batik within the country, she has spent decades exploring diverse fiber arts and techniques. Alongside her studio work, she maintains a 45-year career dedicated to teaching creative processes.
During her time in Corrientes, the artist will also present her newest book, “Silke y la seda,” which collects her artistic journey, technical knowledge, and personal experiences in the medium.
