Could Eddie Cibrian Join Wife LeAnn Rimes on ‘9-1-1: Nashville’?

Fans of 9-1-1: Nashville are wondering if LeAnn Rimes’ husband, Eddie Cibrian, might appear alongside her on the hit ABC series. Rimes, who plays the character Dixie, recently discussed the possibility during an interview with Us Weekly.

Dixie’s Potential Love Interest

Rimes indicated that her character, Dixie, is due for a romantic storyline. “We just did a crossover episode with a couple of the guys on 9-1-1 and Dixie doesn’t fall short of a little flirtation in that episode. So there is a little of that going on. I do think she needs a love interest at some point because she needs some distraction,” she explained.

Cibrian as a Possibility

When asked specifically about Cibrian joining the cast, Rimes didn’t dismiss the idea. “They’ve definitely talked about it because he’s on set with me a lot,” she said. “Sometimes they just say that we should be putting him to work. Who knows? He could come on and play my love interest all day long. I would have no problem with that.”

A Calm Life Together

Rimes and Cibrian have been married since 2011 and appear to be in a stable and happy place. People reports that the couple enjoys a “very calm” life, with Cibrian’s sons, ages 22 and 18, still living at home. Rimes described their life as “normal” and a welcome change after years of a prompt-paced career.

Rimes’ Creative Contributions to the Show

Beyond her acting role, Rimes has as well contributed musically to 9-1-1: Nashville. She recently debuted the original song “Wild Things Run” on the show, a process she found creatively fulfilling. She told E! News that the song was inspired by her relationship with Cibrian and the dynamic between her character and Chris O’Donnell’s character, Don. The experience has even sparked fresh ideas for her next album.
