Leapmotor B10 Gains Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with New OTA Update

Leapmotor’s B10, a compact C-segment electric SUV, has received a significant over-the-air (OTA) software update, enhancing its technological features and improving the overall driving experience. The update, released approximately six months after the B10’s initial market launch, introduces key features like One-Pedal driving, native support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, expanded voice control, and refinements to existing systems.

One-Pedal Driving and Enhanced Energy Recovery

A central component of the new update is the One-Pedal driving function. This allows drivers to control acceleration and deceleration primarily using the accelerator pedal, simplifying the driving process. The update also includes improved energy recovery logic, increasing the vehicle’s efficiency.

Seamless Smartphone Integration

The Leapmotor B10 now offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, allowing drivers to seamlessly integrate their smartphones for navigation, communication, and entertainment. A recent video demonstration highlights the new features, including a guide on setting up Apple CarPlay. Another YouTube video provides a tutorial on Apple CarPlay setup specifically for the B10.

Improved User Interface and Customization

The OTA update also refines the vehicle’s interface, providing drivers with greater customization options. Steering wheel buttons can now be assigned new multi-function settings, including shortcuts for Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) functions and driving modes.

Enhanced Infotainment and Driving Experience

New navigation display graphics with a split-screen layout have been implemented, improving visibility when using multiple applications simultaneously. A “Quick Start” preload function has been added to accelerate the infotainment system’s startup time. Optimizations have also been made to the system’s ability to detect occupants and to the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) and LCC (Lane Centering Control) systems, resulting in smoother deceleration during cornering.

Easy Installation

The OTA update began rolling out in early February and is currently being completed on all Leapmotor B10 vehicles. Owners receive a notification directly on the vehicle’s interface, allowing for remote installation via the vehicle’s settings.

Leapmotor B10: A Hybrid EV Option
