The highly anticipated Latvian series “Mīļākās” (“Sweethearts”) premiered on February 19th at the iconic Coyote Fly nightclub in Riga, bringing together the cast, crew, and prominent figures from Latvian society. The series, set to air on Go3 starting February 23rd, delves into the complexities of modern relationships through the lives of four distinct women.
A Story of Friendship and Secrets
“Mīļākās” centers around four close friends navigating the challenges of love, life, and career. Anna, a sexologist, appears to have a perfect life but harbors hidden struggles. Signe is a confident woman who effortlessly manages her relationships and professional life. Alise balances family life with her husband Aleksej and daughter Darta, whereas artist Laura finds herself drawn to unconventional romantic interests.

The premiere event at Coyote Fly drew a crowd of notable attendees, including the series’ stars: Lelde Dreimane (Anna), Elīna Bojarkina (Laura), Kristīna Zaharova (Signe), and Malgožata Apse (Alise). As well present were actors Artūrs Dīcis, Jurijs Djakanovs, Maksims Busels, and Mārtiņš Počs, alongside public figures Liene Atvara, Kristīne Čakare, Karīna Tonne, Annija Putniņa, and Katrīna Kreile.
On-Screen and Off-Screen Romance
The series features romantic scenes between Lelde Dreimane’s character, Anna, and Edgars, played by Andris Bulis. Recent reports have focused on how Dreimane’s real-life partner, businessman Artūrs Bernāts, reacted to these scenes. Bernāts has stated that the scenes were filmed before their relationship began and that Dreimane had shown them to him in advance, alleviating any concerns. He also playfully noted that he believes he looks better than Bulis and is four years younger. Jauns.lv reports that Bernāts found the scenes more challenging for Dreimane’s co-stars than for her.
