Lenovo Achieves ‘Advocate’ Status in Workplace Pride Global Benchmark

Lenovo has achieved a milestone in its global inclusion strategy, earning ‘Advocate’ status in the Workplace Pride Global Benchmark for the first time with a score of 93.7% in July 2026. The result marks a significant step-change for the technology provider, placing the company in the top tier across every measured area, from internal policies and communications to employee networks, benefits, and societal impact.

Understanding the Workplace Pride Global Benchmark

The Workplace Pride Global Benchmark assesses how organizations support LGBTIQ+ inclusion across policies, culture, and operations worldwide, particularly in markets where progress remains uneven. According to Workplace Pride Executive Director David Pollard, achieving a top-tier score is about the choices organizations make when it matters most, rather than the size of a budget. Organizations scoring above 90% earn the organization’s highest designation of ‘Advocate’ status.

Lenovo’s 93.7% rating reflects steady progress in recent years. Behind the score are stronger policies, active employee communities, and deeper engagement from leaders and allies.

Key Inclusion Drivers and Self-ID Implementation

A primary driver behind Lenovo’s score was the implementation of LGBTIQ+ Self-ID in selected European countries. Designed to help the organization better understand its workforce demographics, the initiative strengthens future inclusion initiatives and ensures targeted support.

Christoph Blankenhagen, Global Technology Partners and Europe Pride Chair at Lenovo, noted the significance of the achievement. According to Blankenhagen, the team worked hard for many years alongside leadership to build an inclusive workplace, and reaching Advocate status demonstrates what consistent effort from global teams can accomplish.

In addition to the organizational benchmark score, individual and group achievements highlighted Lenovo’s internal culture. Christoph Blankenhagen was named Lenovo’s Europe and META Diversity Champion of the Year, while the Europe Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) received recognition as Lenovo’s ERG of the Year.

Broader Corporate Context and AI Strategy

Ranked #196 in the Fortune Global 500 with US$83 billion in revenue, Lenovo serves customers in 180 markets, backed by a global supply chain of more than 30 manufacturing sites and over 20 research and development locations. Guided by its vision of ‘Smarter Technology for All’, the company executes a Hybrid AI strategy spanning Personal AI and Enterprise AI.

The 2026 benchmark result marks another step forward in a longer operational journey.
