Woman Arrested in Connection with Lisa Dorrian Murder After Over 20 Years
Police in Northern Ireland have arrested a 40-year-old woman on suspicion of the murder of Lisa Dorrian, more than 21 years after the 25-year-old went missing. The arrest, made in Bangor on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, comes just days before the anniversary of Dorrian’s disappearance.
Lisa Dorrian’s Disappearance
Lisa Dorrian was last seen alive on the night of February 27, 2005, at a party in Ballyhalbert Caravan Park, County Down Irish News. Police believe she was murdered either that night or in the early hours of the following morning RTÉ.
The Arrest and Charges
The woman, detained in Bangor, is being questioned on suspicion of murder, as well as assisting offenders, withholding information, and preventing a lawful burial RTÉ. She remains in police custody as of February 25, 2026 The Journal.
Ongoing Investigation
Detective Chief Inspector Kerrie Foreman stated that police remain determined to bring justice to Lisa Dorrian’s family and appealed to the public for any information related to her disappearance and murder RTÉ. A 68-year-old man was previously arrested in December on suspicion of murder but was later released without charge Irish News. In February of the previous year, police released previously unseen CCTV footage of Dorrian as part of an appeal for information Irish News.
Despite extensive searches, Lisa Dorrian’s body has never been found Irish Times.
