Lita Reflects on WWE Return, WrestleMania Moment, and Potential Future in Wrestling
WWE Hall of Famer Lita has shared her thoughts on her recent return to professional wrestling, including her singles match with Becky Lynch and her time teaming with Lynch and Trish Stratus against Damage CTRL. Speaking with the Toronto Sun, Lita expressed satisfaction with her comeback but also revealed some candid feelings about how it concluded.
Singles Match with Becky Lynch and Tag Team with Stratus
Lita competed in a singles match against Becky Lynch at Elimination Chamber in 2022, following a prior appearance in the Women’s Royal Rumble. She later joined forces with Trish Stratus and Lynch, facing off against Damage CTRL. “I was really happy to have the singles match with Becky, and then to be able to get in there with Trish and Becky and go against Damage CTRL was pretty awesome, and I feel very satisfied in that,” Lita told the Toronto Sun.
A Disappointing WrestleMania Finale?
Lita initially believed her WrestleMania match alongside Lynch and Stratus could have served as a fitting conclude to her WWE career. However, the storyline took an unexpected turn when Stratus attacked Lita, abruptly writing her out of the narrative. “It was a little weird, the way it ended, where I had this really fun, celebratory match at WrestleMania, and then the next thing I understand, they’re like, ‘Oh, you’re just going to be laying on the ground and we don’t need you anymore,’” she explained.
Open to a Future Return
Despite the unexpected conclusion to her previous run, Lita remains open to the possibility of returning to WWE in the future. She feels physically capable of competing and would consider an offer if the circumstances were right. “There’s so much talent out there; it’s always fun to mix it up with the current roster,” Lita concluded.
