Officials have released the cause of death for Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the 14-year-old girl found in the trunk of a Tesla linked to singer D4vd.

The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office determined she died from multiple penetrating injuries, ruling her death a homicide.

Her body was discovered in September in the front boot of the vehicle registered to a Texas address associated with D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke.

Investigators had completed their examination of her remains in September but were barred from releasing the cause of death publicly until Wednesday due to the ongoing police investigation.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman noted delays in filing charges stemmed from challenges in interviewing multiple individuals, some cooperative and others not, alongside the need to review all available evidence.

Prosecutors allege the teen was killed and her body dismembered on or around May 5, 2025, at least four months before her remains were found.

D4vd has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and related charges, including murder for financial gain and murder of a witness to an investigation.

His legal team maintains they will vigorously defend his innocence, asserting the evidence will show he did not cause Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death.
