Los Pumas Assemble in London and Dublin for Nations Championship Closing Series
Argentina head coach Felipe Contepomi has named his squad for the concluding leg of the Nations Championship, opening with a training camp in London before traveling to Dublin to face Ireland on Friday, November 6, at Aviva Stadium. The squad completed a three-day preparation block in the English capital to review recent systems and integrate late roster adjustments ahead of the November Tests.
Roster Adjustments and Squad Selection
Facundo Isa joins the touring party as a direct replacement for Santiago Grondona, who suffered an injury. The change adds to the previously announced injuries to Santiago Carreras and Thomas Gallo, who miss the November window. Contepomi noted that the London camp provided a crucial window to regroup and align preparations for the opening fixture against Ireland.
“They were three very good days, it is always positive to be able to meet the group again,” Contepomi said regarding the London camp. “They helped us to start preparing for the first match against Ireland and to review what we have been working on in recent times.”
November Test Schedule and Opponents
Following the tournament opener in Dublin, Los Pumas travel to Italy to face the Azzurri on Saturday, November 14, at Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa. The Northern Series concludes on Saturday, November 21, against France at Stade de France in Paris. The squad will then return to London for the Finals Weekend scheduled for November 27-29 at Twickenham, where Argentina will face a yet-to-be-confirmed opponent.
“This closing of the Nations Championship brings a huge challenge that we are looking forward to, because it is the opportunity to play against top-level opponents such as Ireland, Italy and France,” Contepomi added. “It is a great opportunity to continue growing and to close the year in the best way.”
