Lucinda Brand Signs Final Canyon Sram Contract Ending at Paris Roubaix

Lucinda Brand will conclude her eighteen-season professional road career after Paris-Roubaix in April 2028, Sporza reported. The 37-year-old Dutch rider signed a contract through April 2028 with German squad Canyon-Sram, departing Lidl-Trek after seven seasons. I have been following the team for years, Brand said. Our paths never really crossed, but I have always thought that this would be a place where I would feel at home. From the very first conversation I had a good feeling about it and I left it feeling very enthusiastic. It was as if a new fire was ignited in me. Before Lidl-Trek, she raced for Sunweb and Rabobank. Her road palmarès features three Giro stage victories, two national titles, GP Plouay, and Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.

Brand finished third at Paris-Roubaix in 2022 and placed tenth in the race during the 2026 season. When the opportunity presented itself to end my road career with Paris-Roubaix, I knew immediately that this was an opportunity I had to grab with both hands, Brand said. After her final race on the cobbles, she will transition into a role within the team’s technical staff. In a sense, I have already taken on the responsibilities that a sports director might have, and I have discovered how much I like that side of the sport, she added.

While her road career has a definitive end date, Brand will continue competing in cyclocross. She remains signed with Baloise Verzekeringen – Het Poetsbureau, the team managed by Sven Nys, where she rides as the reigning world champion.
