One million players have pre-registered for Gwi Hon Kiugi, the wuxia idle RPG South Korean developer M-Game is building on its 2005 online game Gwi Hon, the company announced on the 6th, HungryApp reported. Pre-registration, which opened August 11, passed 500,000 sign-ups in nine days and 800,000 in early September before crossing the 1 million mark this week.
The game is available for pre-registration on M-Game’s own pre-registration page and on Google Play, the Apple App Store and One Store until launch, according to Ruliweb and Pan Korean News.
How M-Game Built the Pre-Launch Audience
On August 26 it released a main story video produced with generative AI technology to showcase the worldview and narrative of the original Gwi Hon, and from August 27 it ran a month-long user participation event called the “Gwi Hon Cosplay Challenge,” the outlets reported.
The challenge asked participants to post photos or videos of Gwi Hon IP-based characters on their personal social media. It accepted everything from professional cosplay to “living-room cosplay” made with household props, lowering the barrier to entry, and it published a real-time ranking of posts by like count on a dedicated leaderboard to sustain momentum.
What the Game Is
Gwi Hon Kiugi is a self-developed mobile game that reinterprets the IP of M-Game’s flagship online game Gwi Hon, which launched in 2005, as an idle RPG. It carries over the original’s classes, martial arts, regions and monsters, but restructures the field-exploration-focused gameplay into a stage-based idle system.

The main story follows Taehwa Nogun, a legendary martial artist who loses everything after being betrayed by a disciple he trusted, and his journey to recover his memories and martial arts.
Rewards for Pre-Registrants
Pre-registered users receive gold, companion summon tickets and equipment enhancement stones for early progression. With the 1 million milestone, M-Game added a bundle of Hong Su-jeong and dungeon entry tickets, delivered through the in-game mailbox after launch, according to the reports.
Lee Jae-chang, the general manager overseeing Gwi Hon Kiugi, said the milestone was made possible by both longtime fans of the original Gwi Hon and new players, and that the team will finish checking content and service stability to deliver the level of polish fans are waiting for.
When the Game Launches
Gwi Hon Kiugi is targeting a full release in mid-November and is in final preparation, all three outlets reported. Details are available on the official pre-registration page and official lounge.
