Daniel Kajmakoski was rescued by the police after the race

North Macedonian pop artist Daniel Kajmakoski was kidnapped early this morning outside a nightclub in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, but was later rescued by police. This was reported by the regional television En 1, referring to the Serbian authorities.

Two suspects threatened Kajmakoski with a knife and a firearm in the center of Belgrade, forced him into a car and demanded money. Police officers later stopped the car outside the town of Ruma after a chase.

Kaymakoski was treated for his injuries. The perpetrators escaped and are still at large.

The prosecutor’s office in Belgrade has classified the case as a kidnapping. From there they stated that his investigation continues.

According to Serbian media, the singer was abducted while sitting in his car in the Beton Hala entertainment district. The perpetrators allegedly tied him up and demanded 20,000 euros. During the chase, the kidnappers’ car crashed into a guardrail, after which they abandoned it and fled on foot.

Kajmakoski is popular in the former Yugoslavian space and was the winner of the 2015 MTV Best Adria Act award.
