Kalushev presented Nikolai as his son
His mother paid 150,000 euros to study in Mexico 13 years ago.
A young man, who currently lives in a small town in the Sofia region, testified to the investigators that he was part of the group of “lama” Ivaylo Kalushev and lived with him and his friends in Mexico when he was 15 years old. As of 2013, his mother paid 150,000 euros to train her son in diving, spiritual growth and caving.
The man, whose anonymity has been preserved, said that he had sexual relations with the “lama” Kalushev and revealed more intimate relationships between men who were not interested in women and thought they were self-sufficient. The boy was not abused, but at that age accepted these relationships as normal and part of the life of the group of cavers, as well as part of his own personal development under Kalushev’s mentorship.
The former intimate partner of “llama” Ivo also explained that he left Mexico after the attitude towards him began to change. Kalushev paid more attention to another of the minor Bulgarians who were in “training”.
It was the then 11-12-year-old Nikolay Zlatkov, born in 2003, who was found dead in Kalushev’s camper in the Vrachan Balkan. According to the witness, Nikolai’s parents divorced when he was 4 years old.
Stayed with his mother, who became depressed, converted to Buddhism and became deeply religious. That’s how she met “lama” Ivo, to whom she entrusted her son. Niki’s father tried to tear him away from the male company, but failed – the child was very attached to Kalushev, who even began to present him as his son.
