macOS Finder offers four distinct view modes – Icons, List, Columns, and Gallery – accessible through toolbar icons. Many long-time Mac users,like myself,have a preferred view,with Columns view being a consistently popular choice dating back to Mac OS X.
A recent and frustrating issue has emerged in macOS tahoe: the resizing widget at the bottom of each column in Columns view is often inaccessible.The horizontal scroller now consistently overlays and obscures the widget, preventing users from adjusting column widths.
This isn’t an isolated glitch. It fuels a growing sentiment that the recent macOS Tahoe UI redesign is deeply flawed. The situation has led to speculation, even jokes, about the possibility of purposeful sabotage. While initially dismissed as hyperbole, the persistent and increasingly bizarre design choices are prompting serious questions about the direction of macOS development.
macOS was once lauded as a leader in computer human interface design. Though, the current state of the Finder, and other UI elements in tahoe, feels less like evolution and more like vandalism. the user experience has been significantly degraded,raising concerns about the future of Apple’s operating system.
