ACEHGROUND.COM – Apple has officially released the macOS Tahoe version 26.3 update to the public on Thursday, February 12, 2026, bringing a number of crucial fixes that target two annoying design issues that emerged since the previous Liquid Glass update in macOS Tahoe. This update specifically addresses difficulties with resizing application windows and constraints on column display in Finder, two interface elements that Mac users frequently use on a daily basis.
One of the main complaints that many Mac users voice after switching to macOS Tahoe is significant difficulty when trying to resize application windows. This action that should be simple and often done becomes very troublesome. Norbert Heger, a developer, in a blog post last month, explained in detail the root of this problem. According to him, the windows on macOS Tahoe are not completely rounded as they appear, but instead have large rounded corners.
Heger outlines that these large rounded corners push most of the responsive click area to resize outside the visual boundaries of the window, making it nearly impossible to capture consistently. He described his experience:
“Since upgrading to macOS Tahoe, I’ve noticed that quite often my attempts to resize a window are failing. This never happened to me before in almost 40 years of using computers. So why all of a sudden? It turns out that my initial click in the window corner instinctively happens in an area where the window doesn’t respond to it. The window expects this click to happen in an area of 19 × 19 pixels, located near the window corner. If the window had no rounded corners at all, 62% of that area would lie inside the window. But due to the huge corner radius in Tahoe, most of it – about 75% – now lies outside the window.”
The good news is that Apple has confirmed that macOS Tahoe 26.3 resolves this issue. In the release notes for the update, Apple stated, “Window resize areas now follow corner radius instead of using square regions.” Theoretically, this change should make the process of resizing windows easier and more intuitive.
In addition to improvements to window size, macOS Tahoe 26.3 also fixes a broken column display issue in Finder. Jeff Johnson, a technology expert, wrote on his blog about this obstacle. He explained that Finder has four display modes, with column view being the long-standing preference of many Mac users. However, on macOS Tahoe, the resizing widget at the bottom of each column is covered by a horizontal scrollbar, making it unclickable.
